In the Winter period (November – March) it’s located right in the city centre of Amsterdam at the historic shipyard called “Scheepswerf
Kromhout”, a well known and unique place in Amsterdam. Nearby the things you’re most likely want to experience in Amsterdam: the historic canals, musea, shops, bars, restaurants, concert halls & theaters. But, at the same time at a private, calm and safe location.

In the Summer period (April – October) the ship can be enjoyed as a special place to stay at in combination with a unique sailing experience. During this period the home port of the ship is Monnickendam, a beautiful and monumental Dutch village no more than 20 minutes from the city centre of Amsterdam and in the middle of the beautiful villages and places of interest surrounding Amsterdam.

There are 10 sleeping cabins (3×4-person and 7×2-person), 1 separate toilet, 2 bathrooms (both with a toilet) and a large common room where free WiFi, a TV and stereo are available. Ideal for meals, leisure or other happenings. Finally there is a fully equipped kitchen connected to the common room that offers various catering possibilities. Parking (paid) is available nearby.

Parking
P+R (Park & Ride) is the smartest way to Park in Amsterdam. These car parks are located on the outskirts of the city and have an excellent public transport connection.

Parking in a P+R car park costs only 8.00 euros per 24 hours – with a maximum parking time of 96 hours. This fee includes FREE public transport to the centre of Amsterdam for a maximum of five people.

The nearest Park & Ride is P+R Zeeburg I or P+R Zeeburg II. These are adresses you can use to navigate here:

Is bedding provided for?
Yes. We make there is clean bedding.

Are towels provided for?
Yes. We have high quality towels on board. 1 per person.

Is breakfast included?
No. Breakfast is not standard. Yet, upon request we can serve breakfast for the costs of €7,50 per person.

Can the boat be locked?
The boat can be locked from the outside. So, if you leave the boat can locked. Yet, it cannot be locked from the inside nor can individual cabins be locked. This is for sake of (fire) safety and regulations that apply on board of ships in the Netherlands.

Can you park on location?
De Chateauroux is located on private grounds. You can arrive there by bus for a stop & go. This means you can drop off luggage, but you cannot park a car or bus there for longer than 1 hour.

There are paid parking facilities nearby or just outside the city (more availability and less costly).

How do I best get there by public transport?
From the central station it takes you a 20 minute walk to the location of De Chateauroux. By tram it takes you about 10 minutes. You can take tram line 48 (from bus stop CS/Nicolaaskerk Amsterdam to Bus stop Kadijksplein Amsterdam) or 22 (from Bus stop CS/Nicolaaskerk Amsterdam to Wittenburgergracht Amsterdam). Tram stops are within a few minutes walking distance from location of De Chateauroux.

Wat are the cancellation conditions?
If you decide to cancel a reservation we will automatically refund 50% of the the reservation up until one week before arrival, excluding reservation costs.

What is the deposit?
The deposit is €300,-

A charge is made on your credit card 24 hours before check-in. If all goes well this charge is released 48 hours after check-out.

What are the house rules?
The location downtown Amsterdam is special but also means we are strict when it comes to noise nuisance at night. After 22.00 sound can only be made inside the ship and it’s not allowed to do so on deck or of the ship. When you come back after this time we expect you to go straight onto the ship.

The gate to the shipyard always needs to be closed at night and it’s not allowed to walk further into the shipyard (then where the boat is located) without our approval.
